weird pitch drop at 0:38-0:40 :/

other than that not too bad, 3/5 6/10
kinda basic, not too much to it, sounds like sytrus strings and basic sounds. try upgrading your library and making something creative/yourself!

SteNcils responds:

haha nice call.....i did use sytrus strings:)

Also the "pitch drop" ur referring to is actually my attempt to make it seem like a "Disk-off and Disk on" sorta thing....

haha idk.....i thought it would be cool?:)

thanks for ur review:D

class

i'll give it that

Burn7 responds:

Well... thanks? If that's all I've got, at least I've got something I suppose.

But I have to say this is a pretty useless review. You just 7'nd it and didn't even say why. I'll just have to take a guess and say it's because I have a 7 in my name.

awesome.

intro is unique, fades in quite well to the main riffs. and has an overall nice sound. i would improve the bassline though and the filter for when the bass comes in.

other than that, nice, oh, and improve on the ending as well.

9/10, 5/5

cheers

TheFatBunny responds:

thank you i will try but my pc crashed so idk if i still have the flp

nice!

simplistic, realistic, calming, and loops perfectly!

great!

cheers

phatham responds:

wow thanks! i wasn't sure if it was too simplistic but i think if had added more to the piece it would have ruined the pieces calming feel.
many thanks for the 10/10!

EPIC

Beatcrasher responds:

I was unaware that my music could cause sexual pressure in one's pants. I am hoping that this is a desirable effect.

Pretty good.

The intro strings sound familiar.
The synth bassline's gotta go/change.
Drum's are okay (not a big fan of claps generally)
I swear I've heard the melody before! (midi, right? ;P)
Love the part at 1:40-2:03.

biggest concern here for me: the synth bassline
make it some real bass, lad!

Other than that, it was a good effort in making a tune!
4/5, 7/10.

cheers,

TIMarbury responds:

thx for the detailed response. always like to get a lot of feedback.

I feel you on the bassline not having any bass to it. I can easily change that.

ya i used an midi thing from this pack and played around with it and added more tracks to make a full song. thx for the honest review again :)

Amazing.

Beautiful voice, great instrumental.
5/5
10/10.
Easily.

Infernov responds:

Thanks a lot! It makes my day to know you liked.

Awesome!

I like the sounds and the drums you chose, and the intro gives off a spooky type of feeling.
Some things I noticed was that it got too loud when the instruments overlapped each other and it was a big mess, as well as their was a little cut off from the pads in the intro at :16. I don't know if that was supposed to happen but it kind of ruins the mood.

5/5, 9/10

DJ-Chilvan responds:

Thanks for the review!
Hehe, that cutoff from the pad is from the VST. I see what you mean, thanks a bunch for pointing that out. Yea, that has always been my problem. Too many sounds overlapping. I kinda got carried away with different add ons and such, so yes, i agree, it became a mess. And that's why I've been trying to limit the number of tracks I use in my songs. Thanks for the reminder!
I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Ehh,

First of all, well done on completing a piece!

This is going to be honest criticism.
1. The intro is way too long, in the sense that it's just a simple drum loop repeating for almost 1 minute straight, no build up other than adding a different instrument to the loop maybe every ~20 seconds.

2. Are you using the (if you are using Fruity Loops Studio) basic vst plugins for FL Studio (FL keys, wasp, two I believe you used in this track from 1:28, 1:43)? If so, I suggest toying with the effects and their 'knobs' to produce a better sound. Also, try adding chords to your melody in the piano roll. Another suggestion would be to look online for some free VST plugins, and there are some really good ones out there that can give a high-end producer sound.

3. Variation to the melody and beat itself.
I noticed that it's the same melody throughout the whole song, as well as the same beat (kick, snare, etc.) and you occasionally add in the piano. A suggestion for next time would be to maybe raise the whole song up a key or so, or tune with the notes a bit.

4. I like the bass in the beginning. It's a very 'punchy', powerful sound and messing around with it with some automations should make that sucker sound beautiful.

Hope I could be of some assistance, if any, to you and make your next submission even better!

Overall; well done and good effort into this piece.
3/5, 7/10.

Cheers,

yeajimmiboi responds:

I used reason 4, composition of the melody was all mine, although I had to use a quantizer coz im not very good on the keyboard lol Doh and I used the Thor synth and a piano samples with the NN-XT, on reason. I'm no too good on creating my own synths if I am honest, I find others help me a lot more because they always sound better than mine lol. Tried too change it a bit with some Scream 4 distortion and the digital Reverb. Thank you for your criticism, it was helpful and I will use these tips in the future, thank you for commenting :)
